Mario's Galactic Adventure Teaser Debuts, Revealing Rosalina and Bowser Jr. Voices
The collaboration between Nintendo and Illumination unveiled the initial complete preview for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie midweek. The reveal happened in a dedicated Nintendo presentation that highlighted the upcoming animated film.
The sequel to the 2023 blockbuster The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this fresh entry will propel Mario to the distant reaches of the galaxy. In his journey, he meets a fresh princess character and a powerful new opponent in Bowser Jr., the heir to Bowser's throne.
A Space-Faring Quest Inspired by Classic Games
Much like the Wii-era games that act as its source material, Mario will venture away from the well-known surroundings of the Mushroom Kingdom to travel across the galaxy. On his epic voyage, he will encounter once more some recognizable characters, for instance the Luma, a breakout star from the original cinematic release.
However, it seems Mario and his brother Luigi will confront a new threat in the form of Bowser's irate young son, who reportedly commands metallic abilities. Notably, the trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not only concentrated on Galaxy-inspired imagery; it also features references to other beloved games like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
Celebrity Voice Actors Come Back and Grow
The movie will see the return of the original voice cast, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
New additions to the ensemble for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will voice Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to play Bowser Jr. This was confirmed by Chris Meledandri, the chief executive of Illumination.
A Significant Period for Mario
The upcoming Mario film is planned to debut around the time of the four-decade milestone of the original Super Mario Bros. game. In addition to the movie, 2026 is shaping up to be a major period for Mario and his allies.
The company has a set of three fresh titles already confirmed for that year, such as Mario Tennis Fever, a version for Switch 2 of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a fresh Yoshi side-scroller titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is planned for launch on April 3, 2026.
