Helicopter Twirls Out of Control into Palm Groves at Popular Southern California Shoreline
An aircraft soaring above a crowded southern California beach abruptly began spiraling uncontrollably, finally losing altitude and plunging into a cluster of palm groves as spectators watched.
Footage shared on the internet show the helicopter starting to spin above the shoreline then falling in the direction of the perimeter of the coast, where it gets stuck amidst palm trees and a steps near the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Update
Emergency responders reported five people were transported to a medical facility including a pair who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the accident on that day.
Three persons on the road were harmed. Information on their wounds were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
